Preschool - Lead Teacher

Part-time position for a creative individual to serve as a lead preschool teacher beginning August 2013, for the September-May morning program for 3-5 year olds.

Responsibilities include: developing and implementing an arts-based curriculum for a State licensed facility, classroom management, program administration, communicating with parents, and evaluation of students’ development.

Candidates should have prior experience or training in early childhood education and a passion for the arts. Qualified individuals will have high energy, a warm personality, and an educational philosophy that emphasizes creative thinking. AA/BA in Early Childhood Education and State preschool certification is preferred. A background in art, music, dance, or theater is highly desired.

The John Michael Kohler Arts Center is an innovative visual and performing arts complex focusing on contemporary art. Preschool students have the amazing opportunity to visit the galleries, attend performances, and work with visual and performing guest artists. The preschool curriculum aligns with the Wisconsin Model Early Learning Standards.
